The GPCI Endorsing Employer Program provides a mechanism for grant professionals to identify and highlight employers who recognize and value the Grant Professional Certified (GPC®) credential. Employers who prefer hiring GPC-certified candidates recognize the importance of professionals who have undergone rigorous training aligned with the grant competencies necessary for excellence in the field. By supporting the Grant Professional Certified (GPC®) credential, you’re demonstrating leadership in the grants profession and building a foundation for sustainable funding success. The Grant Professional Certification Institute (GPCI) recognizes this commitment through our Endorsing Employer Program.
This designation recognizes organizations that actively invest in their grant professionals’ growth by providing financial support for GPC certification. Through tangible support—whether funding initial certification, renewal fees, or both—Endorsing Employers champion professional excellence and advance standards across the grants field.
This program is also a vital mechanism for grant professionals looking to identify organizations that not only prefer hiring GPC-credentialed candidates, but also actively support their ongoing professional development and excellence in the field.
All sectors are welcome to apply for participation: nonprofit, government, educational institutions, and private organizations engaged in grantseeking. The program carries no participation fee. Current Endorsing Employers are showcased on our website, demonstrating their leadership to the broader grants community.
Each approved GPCI Endorsing Employer Designation lasts two (2) years. Organizations maintaining the designation receive recognition through website listing and a digital credential for their own marketing. Your visible support signals to current and prospective employees, funders, and partners that professional development and certification matter to your organization’s mission.
GPCI Endorsing employers are those who:
- Indicate preference for GPC certification in hiring posts.
- Encourage or requires all grant professional staff to hold or pursue GPC certification while employed by the organization.
- Cover all or part of the initial GPC certification fee for candidates.
- Cover all or part of ongoing recertification fees for candidates.
- Commit to upholding the ethical standards of the grant profession and support your GPCS in doing the same.
These employers may also offer additional support for GPC-certified or seeking staff by:
- Provide support, in part or in full, for grant-related continuing education courses (including those eligible for GPC recertification credits).
- Recognize GPC certification in promotion evaluations and advancement opportunities.
